A delegation of prominent traditional rulers from Kwara and Oyo States on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Engr. Femi Sanni, popularly known as Araba, at his office in Ilorin.
The royal fathers were led by the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owode I, alongside the Olusin of Ijara Isin, Oba Ademola Julius Ajibola, and the Oloro of Oro, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye II. They were accompanied by other chiefs during the visit.
Although details of their discussions were not made public, the visit is widely seen as significant amid growing political activities ahead of the APC governorship primaries in Kwara State.
Speaking after receiving the monarchs, Araba described the visit as both humbling and inspiring, noting the enduring role of traditional institutions in shaping leadership and guiding society.
According to him, the royal fathers have remained a constant source of wisdom and encouragement in his personal and political journey.
“They were in Ilorin for other engagements and graciously decided to visit and pray for me,” he said. “I hold them in very high regard. Their counsel, blessings and fatherly guidance mean a lot, not just to me but to anyone privileged to receive them.”
The APC aspirant reiterated his respect for traditional rulers, emphasizing their importance as custodians of culture and stabilising forces in governance and community development.
Political observers note that such high-profile visits by respected monarchs often carry symbolic weight, especially in a state like Kwara where traditional institutions continue to wield moral influence among the people.
While the monarchs did not speak to the press, their presence at Araba’s office is likely to fuel speculations about growing support for his governorship ambition within influential circles.
The visit comes as consultations and alignments intensify within the APC ahead of what is expected to be a keenly contested primary election.
Gubernatorial aspirant and Chairman of FlowFM 92.7, Engr Femi Sanni (Araba), has extended warm felicitations to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, on the occasion of his 86th birthday.
In a personally signed message, Sanni described the monarch as a father to all, a custodian of culture, and a symbol of unity whose reign has brought peace, progress, and prosperity to the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State at large.
“Your Royal Highness, on this milestone birthday, I join the good people of Ilorin Emirate and well-wishers across the world in celebrating a life of grace, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people.
Your reign has been a blessing to Kwara, and your counsel continues to guide leaders across generations,” Sanni stated.
The APC gubernatorial aspirant prayed for continued good health, strength, and divine guidance for the royal father, asking that Almighty Allah grants him many more years in sound health and continued service to humanity.
“May your days be long, your legacy evergreen, and your reign continue to bring peace and development to our land. Happy 86th birthday, Your Royal Highness,” he added.
Sanni also used the occasion to reaffirm his respect for the traditional institution, describing it as a critical pillar of stability and progress in Kwara State.
Visionary engineer, founder of Africa’s first mobile phone repair assurance company, honoured for blending technical innovation with grassroots development.
The 2026 edition of the prestigious INAward has named Engr. Femi Olufemi Sanni, widely known as Araba, as its Social Impact Man of the Year, a recognition that celebrates his unique fusion of engineering excellence, entrepreneurial daring, and community-focused philanthropy.
Araba, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (FNICE) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), is not your conventional businessman. Long before the current wave of tech-driven service models swept across Nigeria, he pioneered Africa’s first mobile phone repair assurance company, a bold, forward-thinking solution that changed how millions of consumers protect their devices. By introducing a structured, reliable warranty system for phone repairs, he filled a critical gap in the continent’s rapidly growing tech ecosystem, offering customer protection and service reliability where none previously existed.
But his impact stretches far beyond boardrooms and balance sheets. Over the past decade, Araba has quietly built a reputation as a philanthropist who prefers action over applause. Through his Stefolga Group, his commercial radio station Flow FM 92.7, and his football development initiative Araba FC, he has touched thousands of lives in Kwara State and beyond, from free medical outreaches that have served over 450 people in a single day to youth empowerment programmes that give young people tangible skills and hope.
The INAward 2026 citation highlighted Araba’s ability to “marry technical mastery with a heart for the people,” noting that his brand of social impact is not reactive but structural. By building enterprises that solve real problems and simultaneously channelling resources into education, health, and grassroots sports, he has created a replicable model for sustainable development.
In his acceptance, Araba dedicated the award to the “unsung heroes of Kwara” – the everyday citizens, the market women, the young dreamers, and the community leaders who inspire him to keep pushing boundaries. “True social impact is not about the size of your cheque,” he said. “It is about the consistency of your presence and the depth of your care.”
The award further cements Araba’s growing influence as a technocrat with a social conscience, positioning him not only as a business icon but as a leading voice in the conversation about inclusive, people-first development in Nigeria.
The Chairman of FlowFM 92.7 and Stefolga Group, Araba Femi Sanni, FNICE, FNSE, has extended warm congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 74th birthday.
In a statement personally signed by him, Sanni described President Tinubu as a visionary leader whose decades of service to the nation have left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political and economic landscape.
“As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marks another year, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating a leader whose passion for progress and commitment to national development remain unwavering.
His journey from the trenches of democratic struggle to the highest office in the land is a testament to resilience, strategic thinking, and an abiding love for country,” Sanni stated.
He praised the President’s bold policy direction, noting that the reforms initiated under his administration have laid the groundwork for long-term economic stability and growth, even in the face of challenging global headwinds.
“On this special day, I pray that Almighty God grants President Tinubu continued wisdom, good health, and renewed strength to lead our nation toward the prosperity we all desire. His vision for a greater Nigeria is one we share, and we remain committed to supporting the progress he champions,” Sanni added.
Businessman, philanthropist and FlowFM 92.7 Chairman, Araba Femi Sanni, has penned a heartfelt tribute to his long-time friend, Adewale Ayuba, as he marks another year.
In a warm message, Araba recalled a cherished memory from 34 years ago, his bachelor’s eve party, where Ayuba’s memorable performance left an indelible mark. “A friend who shows up and makes moments unforgettable is a treasure,” Araba noted, celebrating over three decades of unwavering brotherhood.
He wished Ayuba continued good health, boundless joy, and many more years, praying that the years ahead bring even greater fulfillment and favour. Araba also offered prayers for Ayuba’s family, asking for peace, prosperity, and divine protection over his home.

On the Passing of Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo
I join countless Nigerians in mourning the loss of Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo — former Governor of Kwara State, Senator, Minister of Communications, and one of the towering figures in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
Chief Adebayo was not only a national icon but also a personal mentor who introduced me to politics. It was under his guidance that I learned the true meaning of politics rooted in ideology, principle, and service. Through him, I came to understand that public life is not about expediency, but about values and unwavering integrity.
During our time in exile in Canada, he led the NADECO group with unmatched discipline and clarity of purpose. Working closely with him was an honour and an education. He was a true “general” in the pro-democracy struggle — calm under pressure, deeply thoughtful, and always guided by reason and restraint.
One vivid memory stands out: the morning General Abacha passed, Chief Adebayo called me and, in his typically cautious and deliberate manner, urged me to verify the news through my contacts before reacting. That moment captured the essence of who he was — a man of wisdom, principle, and sound judgment.
His life was a masterclass in statesmanship. Kwara has lost a great son, and Nigeria a voice of reason, dignity, and moral clarity.
On behalf of myself, Flow FM 92.7, and the many others he mentored and inspired, I extend heartfelt condolences to his family, the good people of Kwara State, and the entire nation.
Chief Adebayo’s legacy will live on in the many lives he touched, and in the values he stood for.

…Move aims to boost healthcare delivery and medical education through strategic public-private partnership in Kwara South.
#KwaraRising
The Kwara State Government on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to upgrade the Omu Aran General Hospital into a teaching hospital for the medical students of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko, located in Irepodun Local Government Area.
The initiative, expected to produce more quality health professionals—including medical officers and other specialists—was described as another bold move by the administration to deepen its collaboration with private institutions for enhanced healthcare delivery across the state.
This is not the first time the state is embarking on such a partnership. Last year, it signed a similar MoU with Al-Hikmah University, allowing the institution to use the newly upgraded Sobi Specialist Hospital in Ilorin as a teaching hospital to aid its medical course accreditation process.
The MoU signing ceremony with TAU drew senior government officials, traditional rulers, top academics, and other stakeholders from the health and education sectors.
Present at the event were Commissioner for Health Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam; Commissioner for Communications Hon. Bola Olukoju; Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Hon. Yakub AbdulAzeez; Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospital Management Board Dr. Abdulraheem Malik; Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Rafiu Ajakaye; APC chieftain Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin; Founder and Chancellor of TAU Dr. Thomas Adewumi; TAU Vice Chancellor Prof. Francisca Oladipo; representative of the Acting Head of Service Dr. Okedare Adeyinka; Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University Prof. Nuah Yusuf; Vice Chancellor of Ahman Pategi University Prof. Kazeem Bolagbade; and Prof. Suleiman Kuranga, among others.
Also in attendance were prominent traditional rulers including the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismaila Yahya Alebiosu; the Olomu of Omu Aran, Oba Raheem Oladele Olaoti; the Olupako of Share, Oba Olawale Haruna Ilufemiloye; and the Oloko of Oko-Irese, Oba Victor Olawuyi.
In her keynote address, Dr. El-Imam described the event as another milestone in strengthening the state’s health system. She praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his proactive leadership, saying he consistently outperforms even his own development targets across sectors.
The Commissioner highlighted the administration’s recent recruitment of 1,005 health professionals—including doctors, nurses, and midwives—the ongoing process to implement the new CONMESS salary structure, various facility upgrades, and the establishment of the Kwara State Teaching Hospital.
“To the glory of God, I have been privileged to work in America, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria, and nowhere in the world have I seen a sector completely run by the government that succeeded,” she said. “It takes a forward-thinking, visionary, and dynamic personality like Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to know the limit and seek the collaboration and support of the private sector. This is what is at play here today.”
Speaking on behalf of the people of Kwara South, Oba Ismail Alebiosu commended the Governor for the historic gesture. He noted that with the recent commissioning of the Osi Campus of KWASU and multiple road projects in the region, the Governor had shown he was committed to equitable development across the state.
“We have never had it this good in our region,” he said. “This is another big one. It shows that he is a Governor for the whole of Kwara State. We are grateful to him.”
Oba Alebiosu also praised Dr. Thomas Adewumi as a “fantastic problem solver and a pride of the region,” acknowledging his efforts toward the growth of the university and his broader humanitarian contributions.
The Olomu of Omu Aran, Oba Raheem Olaoti, said the project signifies improved healthcare delivery in Kwara South and described the Governor’s approach to governance as a continuation of progress rather than abandonment of inherited projects.
“This gesture shows the government is bringing healthcare to the people of Kwara South, which also means bringing life to us,” he said.
In his remarks, Dr. Adewumi expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for his inclusive leadership and commitment to fairness, saying the Governor’s support for TAU reflects his genuine love for the people of Kwara State, including those in the southern region.
