Boosting Women Empowerment: Kwara Women Embrace Fish Farming
In a groundbreaking initiative, 100 women in Kwara State have been trained and equipped with skills in fish farming. Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, this program aims to boost women’s participation in agribusiness and enhance food security in the state.
Participants were taught practical skills, including:
- Fish pond construction and management.
- Best practices for feeding and maintaining fish stock.
- Marketing strategies for selling fish products profitably.
The program’s impact is already evident as many women have started their fish farms, contributing to the local economy. One participant remarked, “This program has given me a sustainable source of income. I’m grateful for the opportunity.”
