Kwara Government Donates Modern Ultrasound Equipment to State University Teaching Hospital

…New facility expected to improve round-the-clock healthcare delivery in Ilorin

The Kwara State Government has donated a new set of modern ultrasound equipment and solar power accessories to the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), Ilorin, to strengthen its capacity for 24-hour healthcare services.

The presentation took place on Tuesday at the hospital premises. Representing the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Bola Ahmed, at the event was the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Council, Dr. Idowu Ogunlaja.

Dr. Ogunlaja described the donation as a landmark gesture by the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, saying it would significantly enhance the hospital’s ability to provide affordable and quality healthcare to residents of Kwara and neighbouring states.

He praised the Governor’s commitment to healthcare development, describing the sector as key to the well-being of the people. “This is another milestone that reflects the government’s serious investment in the health of its citizens,” he said.

Dr. Ahmed, through his representative, assured that the hospital would put the equipment to good use and ensure improved access to diagnostic services.

The new items include a high-grade ultrasound scanning machine and solar panels with their accessories, designed to support continuous service delivery even during power outages.

The event was attended by several hospital and government officials, including the Hospital Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Aliyu; a representative of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam; Mrs. Abdullah Fatimoh; Store Officer Mr. Karim Babatunde; and other KWASUTH staff.
